Normally I’m all about the technology when it comes to crowdfunding but I do also like to support the arts. And no project I have found is more deserving of support than the third and final installment from Eye Films about the island of Alderney during World War 2.
Having recently taken receipt of my Voltera V1 desktop PCB printer, I have become a tiny bit obsessed with desktop prototyping. There are several crowdfunding projects which I have recently come across that have fuelled my appetite for making things and none more so than Wazer.
We finally managed to find some time to get PancakeBot up and running. Unfortunately, it seems we’re not very brilliant at making pancakes….
Of all the things I’ve ever seen on Kickstarter the Voltera V-One PCB printer is the thing that has grabbed my attention most. I’ve been involved in small-scale PCB prototyping for a good many years and I am convinced that this is a game-changing device which will alter the way that circuits are designed across the world.
This is just a quick update on one of the campaigns I pledged money to on Kickstarter earlier this year. The campaign is now closed to backers but if the pilot episode of The Mayoress is successful then there may be future crowdfunding opportunities.
Backing a sitcom was a bit of a departure from my usual technology based pledges but this grabbed my attention because two of my favourite comedians are in it. With the notable exception of Bill Bailey, Harry Hill and Jack Dee have caused me to have more laughter related asthma attacks over the years than pretty much any other comedians on the telly. Whilst the asthma is something of a concern I always thought that if I’m going to go then I might as well go out laughing but as a precaution I carry a salbutamol inhaler with me these days.
