This is me. Andy to my friends, actually it's Andy to everybody except when they are giving me a bit of ticking off, then it seems to be Andrew. If I'd have taken the time to learn a musical instrument I would be a penniless wandering minstrel. I didn't, so I'm just penniless. Recently this has been due me spending way too much cash on crowdfunding projects in the pursuit of enhancing my own inventions. It turns out though that I'm not very good at inventing so my fanciful notions of being the next James Dyson are unlikely to amount to anything more than just dreams. I do enjoy tinkering though...... and I think its healthy to dream.
Jamie Oliver and PancakeBot

Jamie Oliver and PancakeBot

A few weeks ago I was in my office doing work (proper work) when I received a Facebook message from a guy wanting to know if he could either buy or borrow PancakeBot.  I get a lot of spam so I ignored it.  Then the same guy tweeted me too, so now I’m thinking this is probably a real person and it is only polite to reply. He then comes back with “I work with Jamie Oliver and we want to make a fun pancake day video so wondered whether we could borrow PancakeBot”.

Interview With Luke Cutforth

Interview With Luke Cutforth

Finally found some time to edit this video.  It seems that young Lizi is now a permanent member of the Fund It Together team as she is much less miserable than me and picks much more interesting projects.

Who is Luke Cutforth?

Luke Cutforth is a well-known YouTube regular where he goes by the name of “Luke Is Not Sexy”.

Luke and his friend / colleague Josh are currently in the post-production stage of a feature film, an adaptation of the Caroline Smailes novel The Drowning of Arthur Braxton. As a backer of the Kickstarter campaign my daughter Lizi and I were fortunate enough to see an early preview screening of the film. Luke was kind enough to give us some of his time after the screening to tell us about his experience with financing the project through crowdfunding.

George Walks The Sussex Border Path

George Walks The Sussex Border Path

Usually I try to keep charity and crowdfunding as separate issues but sometimes the twain just meets.  On this occasion the two things are thrust together by virtue of the fact that George is walking all the way around Sussex and, given that I live in the east part of the county, it seems only right and proper to lend my support.  Add to that the fact that I consider The National Autistic Society to a be a particularly worthwhile cause and frankly I would seem like a bit of a grumpy pants if I didn’t make some effort to raise awareness of this event.

Dad Droid – From The Creators of This is Jinsy

Dad Droid – From The Creators of This is Jinsy

In recent years nothing that has appeared on my TV has made me laugh as much as “This is Jinsy“.  The show is the work of Chris Bran and Justin Chubb and looks at life on the island of Jinsy; a magical place of folk tales, heroes, villains, tom-foolery and the unforgettable ballads from Melody Lane.  I was therefore very pleased to hear that the Jinsy Boys have turned their attention to a book and are currently trying to raise funds to publish Dad Droid.

iMac vs Mac Pro (2015 vs 2009)

iMac vs Mac Pro (2015 vs 2009)

My faithful old Mac Pro was gradually getting slower and slower and unfortunately I do not possess the kind of cash required to get my hands on one of the cylindrical new Mac Pros.  I did a bit of research on the Internet and discovered that my money would be better spent on a top-end iMac rather than a low spec. Mac Pro.  Although this has nothing to do with crowdfunding, I am so impressed with my new toy that I felt the need to share the love with anyone who’ll listen.  So I made a video of the iMac vs Mac Pro showdown.
